Being Prepared For Traveling With A Truck/During A Corona Outbreak

If you have to work during the Corona outbreak, it is best to make sure that you are safe.

Coronavirus is a new virus that is similar to the flu. It was first seen in China in late 2019. Up to now, there are almost 220,000 confirmed cases, with around 9,000 deaths.

Here are some ways that you can try to minimize your chances of getting the virus.

Isolate yourself as much as you can

Coronavirus spreads by contact, but even if you are at a distance of 6 feet from an infected person, you can become infected yourself. It is also transmitted if you touch something that an infected person touched. But there are ways that you can prevent the disease. Most of the people who have died of coronavirus are people with already bad health or people who do not have a strong immune system. If you are in good health, practicing basic hygiene is basically half of the risk. Wash your hands regularly, as often as you can, but it could be hard on the road, so make sure always to carry a hand sanitizer that is at least 60% of alcohol. Additionally, it would help if you had a couple of packs of wet wipes to clean the objects you touch, like your phone, or the stirring wheel.

Have a toolbox in your truck

You should always be prepared for anything. Especially because it is advised to make as fewer stops along your way as you can. Having a practical toolbox in your truck will help you pack the essentials.

You should always have tools that you can use in case of a flat tire, like the iron, or a car jack.

Have enough food, water, and supplements

Because you should not make a lot of stops while traveling, it is best to stock as much food and water as you can. One trick is that if you want to stay healthy, you should also eat healthily. The best thing to bring is a lot of granola bars, nuts, seed, and nut butter, because these foods are really filled with calories, and can last a long time. Canned and other non-perishable foods are also essentials while traveling.

Also, get a lot of fruits, but choose different stages of ripeness, to eat now, soon, or later. Make sure to have a lot of citrus fruits because they are filled with vitamin C, which is needed for a strong immune system.

Buy as much water as you can carry and make sure to drink a lot during the day because water is very good at washing away the toxins.

If you really want, you can buy supplements, like B12, Magnesium, or calcium pills.

Bring enough clean clothes

Because hygiene is so important, keeping yourself clean by wearing clean clothes is also essential. Bring enough clothes and underwear, but also look up the weather forecast for the days you will be traveling. If it’s going to be cold, bring warm clothes, because it will lower the chances of catching a common cold which will weaken your immune system.

Going to the public spaces is unavoidable, but there are ways to protect yourself, like wearing a face mask and sanitary gloves. If you do not have access to these items, because the pharmacies could be all out of stock, make sure always to wash your hands afterward.

If you have some of the symptoms of coronavirus, like sore throat, difficulties breathing, coughing, and sneezing, make sure to contact the doctor before and isolate yourself completely.
