  • Rauh-Welt Begriff RWB Porsche build by Nakai-san in Estonia

Akira Nakai coming to Estonia to build his signature RWB Porsche 993 is probably the biggest car culture news in Estonia this year. Only back to back wins of Ott Tänak and mathematical championship title can compete here. That said, Nakai-san isn’t very known to general public, kids know him from the Need for Speed game, car freaks saw his monstrous builds on the Internet. How many car nuts saw Zweite Entwicklung Porsches with their own eyes? Quite a few. How many saw one being build by the master himself, probably few thousand people at most.   I heard about the news…

Porsche Classic Road Tour 2018 took place for the fourth time today on 16th of June. Owners of Porsches are welcome to attend with their honoured classics: from 356 to Carrera GT models. Porsche Classic Road Tour is not meant for speed but for precision, and the whole competition takes place in normal traffic conditions. This year Porsche celebrates its 70th anniversary. The first Porsche vehicle was registered on 8 June 1948. It was the 356 Roadster No. 1. This is the day the Porsche brand was born.

  • Porsche Museum / Stuttgart

During my spring trip to Germany I didn’t only go for the famous ADAC ZURICH 24H Race, otherwise known as Nurburgring 24h. I’ve spent half a day in Stuttgart, visiting Porsche and Mercedes museums. Museum of the iconic sportcar maker was the first on my list so as soon as I got my rent car, I headed south from Frankfurt. You can say that the museum is not very big, all the history is more or less fitted on one floor. Second floor is mostly for showroom models. You start the tour with the first construction of Ferdinand Porsche the…

  • ADAC Zurich 24h Nürburgring 2016

I wanted to go to Nürburgring for a very long time. In 2014 I even accredited to the same 24h race, but was unable to go. This time everything went smoothly and I experienced what is the toughest 24h race in the world. It’s hard in general, so when heavy showers, hail and fog hits the track – it all ads up. I was able to make sunny pictures only during the morning training. After morning practice it was time for the WTCC. I will make a separate post about them later on. Now it was time for the main race.…

  • Close-up // Porsche 911 Rothmans

I’ve noticed this Porsche on a parking lot at Auto24ring in Pärnu. I love 911s in general, but Rothmans livery made this one even sexier. I’ve spent some time around it, photographing it in detail.

  • Gran Turismo Baltica // Auto24ring / 2015

I’m already used that in the end of July I get to shoot some supercars at Auto24ring. Gran Turismo Baltica have been coming to this circuit for four times now and always attracts plenty spectators. 2. Organisers themselves say that the race track in Pärnu is one of the finest in Eastern Europe, so event is always fully booked. 3. Finest supercars come to the track 4. I photographed this event a bit differently this time, almost didn’t use my trusty 70-200 and put pressure on the other equipment that I have and that I don’t use most of the…

  • 24 Hours of Le Mans // Entertaining Statistics / 2015

As some of you know, I’m not only a motorsport photographer, but an Internet marketer that loves analytics. In a recent press release from World Endurance Championship (WEC) I read that the latest edition of Le Mans 24 hour race attracted 263 500 spectators, the biggest in the past 20 years. Here are some interesting statistics (and my pictures from 2014) that I got from WEC: Spectators at the circuit – 263 500 spectators at the circuit, 200 more than in 2014. – 30 100 spectators at the first day’s practice (Wednesday 10th June), 56 000 the second (Thursday 11th…

  • CAR PORTRAITURE 2014

Every year I try to plan 3–5 big international events where I go and make motorsport photography. This year it was Le Mans 24H race, Gatebil Rudskogen Festival, Drift Allstars GP of London, Nitro Nationals European Dragrace Championship and Supermoto World Championship. In between I have time and desire to photograph some staged car shoots. I don’t do a lot of them. It requires energy, scheduling and aspiration from owners. Sometimes planning goes really smoothly and sometimes you put few weeks of energy in trying to agree on everything and still in the end something goes wrong. These disappointing moments…
