Let’s imagine you’re a rich person living in Frankfurt: where will you go to buy your next supercar or a collectable? I think I have an answer – you will go to Klassikstadt, located in a n old German factory building. I visited it in autumn, so don’t remember already, was the place is three or four floors, but I remember that first one was dedicated to car showrooms like Lamborghini and McLaren. Next one or two were about classic cars and the last one had some unique super and hyper cars on display.

Volkswagen museum was the last stop on my German car museum tour. Since it’s the only manufacturer that wasn’t located in the South of Germany, I waited for a trip that will at least somehow be close to Wolfsburg. This time I was 400km away, but had a full day free so I went for it. First impression was: people’s museum for the car of the people. Museum is humble, everything is located on one floor. When I say everything, I mean all the Beetles and VW Buses – they take around 50% of the area. Did you notice it?…

  • Audi Museum / Ingolstadt

Audi Museum in Ingolstadt was the last car museum I visited in previous year. During 2016 I’ve been to Porsche and Mercedes museums in Stuttgart, and BMW museum in Munich. Four rings branded museum is not as big or technically advanced as the rest, but it does feature all four brands that associated with Auto Union – Horch, Audi, Wanderer and DKW. A little consumer side note: ticket costs only 2EUR. I didn’t know that and was a bit ashamed when asked for a media pass, which by the way they don’t have. You can dive quite deep into their pre-war…

There is no point to hide it, I was a BMW fan from my teenage years. Father taught me to drive on an E30 when I was around 11 and I followed brand’s influence on the World ever since. I saw BMW Headquarters cylinder building in some magazine many years ago and since then I knew that want to see it in real life and visit their famous museum. My first attempt was in 2013, but I was in Munich on Monday, so the museum was closed. I got another opportunity to visit Munich in summer 2016 and this time…

Mercedes museum is just ten minute ride away from the Porsche museum that I just finished exploring. Now I was more interested in innovations than in racing spirit. This museum is big, nine storey big, but before we go up, check out the elevators that lead you there. We start with 130 year old history, when mister Karl Benz was trying to make a helicopter or a moving cupboard. And now we decent into nine rings of hell innovations. *Classical music plays* *Jimi Hendrix wrestling his stratocaster* *Autobahn is performed by Kraftwerk* *Jetsons theme song on repeat* *V8 Formula 1…

During my spring trip to Germany I didn’t only go for the famous ADAC ZURICH 24H Race, otherwise known as Nurburgring 24h. I’ve spent half a day in Stuttgart, visiting Porsche and Mercedes museums. Museum of the iconic sportcar maker was the first on my list so as soon as I got my rent car, I headed south from Frankfurt. You can say that the museum is not very big, all the history is more or less fitted on one floor. Second floor is mostly for showroom models. You start the tour with the first construction of Ferdinand Porsche the…
