  • Interview with Daijiro

Daijiro Yoshihara is one of the best drifters in the World, mostly recognised for winning 2011 Formula Drift Championship. He participated in US series from Day 1. I had the opportunity to talk with him. We discussed drifting, his car, stunt driving and team management. – Where are you from? – I’m from Hachioji Tokyo, Japan – Never thought going back to Japan and participating in D1? – Of course I have, but I’ve never had a chance. It’s hard to get support over there since all my sponsors are here in the U.S. It would be cool to participate one day! –…

  • VSCO iOS app Filters test

I applied VSCO filters on some of my best pictures, what happened next was above my expectations or any other click bate title will work here. In all seriousness, yes, I thought what results I can do with VSCO app and gave it a try. Quality of pictures goes down by a lot, but colours become more full and vivid. I would say if mobile traffic is the only traffic you’re getting, VSCO is a win-win solution for post production.

  • Close-up // #driftcarsstanding

When sun sets low and racing stops, you can usually find these tired racing beasts at the garage or in the pits. It’s a good time to make a few spontaneous snaps of them. • How hard can it be to make a “Gatebil” in Baltics?

Hello beautiful reader, it’s cold in the parts where I live and my camera is hidden for few months already and awaits the next racing season to start in April. Although I have ideas for visiting some winter-cold WRC events in between. Today I want to talk about one event that many people believe is the mecca for automotive pleasure. It is called Gatebil which means Street Car in Norwegian. It’s an event where 40 000 people from all over the World come to enjoy themselves, get inspired, be astonished, to feel free to express who they are and what…

  • September Gatebil in the rain or the story of 10 spectators

Earlier in autumn, I went once more time to Norway. My main priority was the NEZ Formula Offroad final in Skien, but there was also a Gatebil event at the same time. I arrived Friday evening and based on the weather forecast, decided to go to Rudskogen, also it seemed a better place for sleep than some petrol station. Rain already passed when I arrived, but Saturday looked to be a different story – heavy rain all day long. At the moment everybody were mainly eating and preparing for some 90’s euro-disco party. Why, yes why, you don’t hear any…

  • Estonian Drift GP // Drift Allstars / Outtakes

When an event is close to your home, you’re able to devote more time to it. Especially when it’s one of the highlights of the year. This time I was writing the article for Speedhunters, I feel that I covered Estonian drift scene quite well without being boring or writing too much about it – it wasn’t a complete history of course, but probably I will try myself on something like that for the 10th Anniversary (I have all the material from Day 1). You can read Speedhunters story and check the main pictures HERE. Below you can see my…

  • Latvian Drift GP // Drift Allstars / 2015

Drift Allstars in Riga, what to say.. Last time I was at Bikernieki I made 50 pictures and went away, thought that i’ve been too many times here, that all angles are same and done long time ago. At DA I spent two full days at the track, drivers brought inspiration with their car control and attitude. My memory is still overwhelmed with #gatebilexperience and seeing many familiar faces injected that extra bit of excitement. Seeing best polish drivers back to the series was a turn on for me as well. Also so many photographers turned up for the event.…
