  • CAR SPOTTING // 2014

In 2014 I was lucky enough to travel, because in my homeland, Estonia, there’s not much to spot except few for Lambos and such. Thing is when you’re local you know where the rich kids hang out. For example in US I only saw one exotic Ferrari in those 3 days. It was already dark and my Kodak Portra 160 didn’t really cope with the lack of light, but I did the shot anyways. Later I thought that Paris will be a great place to find some exclusives on wheels. Seems that I was in wrong places or at wrong…

  • CAR PORTRAITURE 2014

Every year I try to plan 3–5 big international events where I go and make motorsport photography. This year it was Le Mans 24H race, Gatebil Rudskogen Festival, Drift Allstars GP of London, Nitro Nationals European Dragrace Championship and Supermoto World Championship. In between I have time and desire to photograph some staged car shoots. I don’t do a lot of them. It requires energy, scheduling and aspiration from owners. Sometimes planning goes really smoothly and sometimes you put few weeks of energy in trying to agree on everything and still in the end something goes wrong. These disappointing moments…

  • DTM FINALE // HOCKENHEIM / 2013

Exactly one year ago I arrived to Hockenheim for the first time. As it usually is with racetracks — Hockenheimring is situated in a small town where you hardly see buildings more than two storeys high. Track facilities are the largest constructions in the area. I lived in a nearby city Manheim and travelled by train to Hockenheim. As soon as I arrived to the train station, loud and vicious engine noises were coming from the track and were heard everywhere dispite that the track was 2.5km away. DTM practice was on. Session was already ending, but I wasn’t worried, I knew…

  • AMERICAN BEAUTY CAR SHOW

American Beauty Car Show (ABCS) takes its beginning from 2001. Event will celebrate its 15th anniversary next year as well as making an effort to grow from year to year. ABCS takes place in July in a small town on the west side of Estonia — Haapsalu. Event consists of three main parts: exhibition inside medieval castle, parade around the city and drag race. Haapsalu during the weekend is possibly the most exciting town to visit in Europe. Streets are full of V8 rumble, non-american cars are even not allowed to enter the old town, everywhere you look you find an automotive…

  • DRIFT MEMOIRS OF 2014

I live in Estonia, country where drifting is the most popular form of Motorsport. So I’m heavily involved with it and let’s be honest — it’s much more spectacular to photograph drift rather traditional circuit racing. Eastern Europe and Scandinavia host three international drift series: Drift Allstars, Eastern European Drift Championship (EEDC) and North European Zone Drift Championship (NEZ). Scandinavia is also home to the biggest drift festival in the World — Gatebil. International events bring big names from the tire slaying world: in EEDC and Drift Allstars you often enjoy company of Juha Rintanen who was battling with the top guys in Formula…
