Welcome to the Formula D round in Riga.. wait, no.. it’s the HGK Drift Challenge 2018. We’re all familiar with HGK Motorsport and their insane cars, so already for the third year they make their own cozy event.

Mostly their drift customers are invited as well as few Formula D guys. This time frenemies Matt Field and Odi Bakchis got acquainted with the fierce Bikernieki circuit.

Many agree that after Daigo Saito it was Kristaps Bluss who brought another big change to how Formula D cars are built. Carbon kevlar body panels are becoming the new norm for the sport and this weekend wasn’t an exception.

Odi was given the E36 that Chris Forsberg drove last year. It’s a bit underpowered, but Odi is the perfect guy who can manage it and push it through

Nikita Shikov, two times RDS vice champion was invited to judge the event

I liked that a lot of guys helped their mechanics with the cars, especially when it comes to changing tires

And when one of the frenemies has problems with the law, teammate keeps a close eye on the situation

Motul plastic tape appeared in front of the camera and made this nice film burning effect

FD guys were winning tandem after tandem, Top 4 was Odi vs Matt and Kristaps against another local – Eriks Ulass

Matt Field defeated Aurimas Bakchis, while Kristaps Bluss applied all the pressure on the local and came on top as well. Thousand of local eyes witnessed the final between two E46s.
