  • Lightpainting night at Auto Klassik

These days we almost have white nights in Estonia, but around a month ago I could play with my Chinese Yongnuo light stick quite early in the evening. I went to Auto Klassik backyard, small local workshop that restores classic cars. Parking area was generously packed with cars that wait for the day they will get fresh paint, their engines rebuild and bodies restored. As a disclaimer, it’s my first time doing light painting, it’s definitely fun, but I feel that there so many things that I can improve, and first of it is my patience. P.S. Last pic is…

  • Guest Post // Andrej Tkačenko / Steyr 220 Gläser roadster (1939)

Guest post author: Andrej Tkačenko // Facebook / Instagram / Website For me as an amateur-photographer it was a pleasure and honour to do the first photoshoot of this spectacular car right after it was restored. So, what makes this roadster unique? – it is one of few ever made and even less known to exist (only 4 cars are confirmed in 2016) – each of the roadsters differ slightly, unique body and a lot of hand work – almost every line of the car is a complex curve (teardrop shape) – art deco style, not typical for German coachbuilders, its body is…

  • Fastest Corvette C2 in the world

I’ve photographed this 1965 Corvette few years ago on a very hot sunny day, so hot in fact that my shoes were getting glued to the tarmac. Owner (Kimmo “SIX-5” Nevalainen) bought it around 10 years ago, fully rebuilt it, repainted it, changed everything. Car is built for multi-purpose, it’s good in corners, good on drag strip and at a car show. In April Kimmo improved his World Record run (fastest C2 Corvette) for Standing Mile – 201.3 MPH (323.96 KMH) He drove it on Le Mans track, at Nordschleife, Hockenheim, etc. Engine is aV8 400cui that goes to 7000 rpm, 1000+ hp

  • Ford Edsel Villager ’59

My first car photoshoot of 2016. And what a beauty it is. The only Edsel Villager that you can find in Estonia. Condition is crusty & rusty which makes it even better in some sense. Owner: Erkki Joon.

  • Alfa Romeo 4C Launch Edition

This is one of my older shoots, I was photographing this Alfa Romeo 4C back when the car was just shipped to the owner. This model is 299 out of 500. This is what the owner had to say after driving it a few months: The 4C. Waiting was long and expectations high. It was worth it though, as Alfa has delivered a truly unique car. After all the reports from different test drives I had a lot of question marks to straighten. How would the unassisted steering feel? Would it be too loud to live with? Would the suspension…

  • VSCO iOS app Filters test

I applied VSCO filters on some of my best pictures, what happened next was above my expectations or any other click bate title will work here. In all seriousness, yes, I thought what results I can do with VSCO app and gave it a try. Quality of pictures goes down by a lot, but colours become more full and vivid. I would say if mobile traffic is the only traffic you’re getting, VSCO is a win-win solution for post production.

When sun sets low and racing stops, you can usually find these tired racing beasts at the garage or in the pits. It’s a good time to make a few spontaneous snaps of them. • Close-up // Z33 Nismo Super GT // 2005

I walked pass the Rudskogen pits during Gatebil and spotted that Paddy from Speedhunters was shooting this crisp 350Z. I offered him company and took a few snaps. Usually after a season or two of World class racing, in this case, Super GT, cars become out of date and are taken apart or stored in a garage. If you’re lucky, you can by them off and give them a second chance.  Oskar Sandberg’s 350Z has 315hp 3.6L V6.
