Ultrace 2024 Throwback — Just in Time

Ultrace 2024 was an absolute blast — one of those weekends that reminds you why you fell in love with car culture in the first place. I’ve been sitting on this set of photos for a while now. I didn’t get a chance to share them over on Speedhunters, since another contributor was covering the official gallery at the time. But with the 2025 edition just around the corner, it feels like the perfect moment to finally drop my own take on last year’s show. Better late than never, right?

  • Stancest’18 // Lowlifer / Noblessner

Annual Estonian Stance event Stancest, organised by Lowlifer Car Club, was celebrated today. Guys made another kicker event and surprised everybody with the location at a shipyard hangar. Weather treated everybody with sumer vibes. Show brought one of the best Finnish, Estonian and Latvian dropped & bagged cars. This is a hand sign, easily recognised at any stance show internationally, but Mr. Trump think it means something else. Try putting your finger in there 😉 This URXDS E46 wins the “static” category second year in a row. Best bagged car was the grocery getter from Russia Their mates had a…

  • American Car Show Helsinki 2018

In my last year’s post I was deliberating, while I go to Helsinki or to Stockholm for Elmia show, but once again I ended up in Finland. It’s already a tradition for me to head to Helsinki on Easter weekend. Helsinki’s American Car Show (actually show consists of four exhibitions: american cars, tuning, motorbikes, motorsport) offers a great selection of builds every time, although there’s quite a lot of familiar cars at the show as well. Well, it’s good to catch up with old friends as well. The Cars corner I understand that these car clubs just take up space,…

  • Kustom Kulture Show 2018 // Helsinki

It’s finally something fresh on the blog, by fresh I mean – pictures that are taken in 2018, not taken from my dusty archive (where are still plenty of things to show). This weekend I went to Helsinki, for the Kustom Kulture show that was held at Helsinki’s top artsy location – Cable Factory. I still have warm feelings about the Japanese Mooneyes event and was looking forward to dive deeper into a more local custom scene. Me and my friend Misha, who is t-h-e Hot Wheels collector in Estonia went on Sunday, because it was the day of a swap meet…

  • X-treme car show 2017

While Yankee Car Show was in two halls, third one was dedicated to X-treme Car Show. Still not sure how these two different car fan clusters live together. This guy wanted a Mustang, but only had an old Audi Many cars were familiar to me after the Crem de la Creme gathering earlier in the year A very hipster thing to say Plenty of Hatch Club representatives That very clean Opel This Celica is already old school And some oldies My personal favourite is this turbo Renault That’s how you clean your car This is when you pay somebody for…

  • #MiataByWovka vol.1 – Almost Stock

I’m launching a new hashtag as you can see in the title. Why? Well, because I own a MX-5 Nb and summer season is ending here in Estonia, so during those long Nordic winter nights I plan to tune/upgrade/restore/stance my car a bit. Thing is, I don’t know yet what is the correct word, nor the direction to go. Right now I’m just holding myself in order not to start to sticker bomb the car. Mind you, my camera and my bicycle have few layers of labels on them, so it’s a passion that is hard to hold off. I…

  • Diskustom Magazine Kruise Nite

Diskustom is a fresh local zine as well as a movement that hails customs, hotrods and other unconventional builds. Jarmo, guy behind it, tries to organise monthly road trips and puts a “car & coffee” feel to the meets. I was able to join the gang on their second outing and luckily enough – it was the hottest day of Estonian summer.

  • Jeep Wrangler X

I’m quite a big fan of rugged four-by-fours, so was excited to shoot this Jeep Wrangler, X edition. Car wears this very juicy red colour, so to photograph it with light painting technique was the first thing that came to mind. I played a bit with my Yongnuo YN360 Light Wand before, but this was the first proper shoot that I did with it. I see some mistakes, but in overall, I’m happy with how it came out.

  • Stancest’17 // Lowlifer / Space X

Annual Stancest event, organised by Lowlifer Car Club, was the best one so far. Weather was much better than previous year as well as the location: Space X center in Ulemiste City fitted best cars of the show, as well as the territory next to it was cozy and chill. Exhibitions itself definitely improved, bringing more international cars as well more sponsors. Here’s my take on the event with this fast edit. Separate shoots with some of the best cars will be published later 😉

  • The Ultimate Sleeper: 1997 Volvo 850 Wagon?

You’re sitting in traffic at a red light, idling behind a fully restored Alfa-Romeo GTV. The driver is revving the engine, no doubt full of high performance parts, and ejecting exhaust across the hood of your family-friendly sedan. The essence of class struggle has never felt more real. Then, from your forward left, comes more revving. Only this time it’s from the engine of a beige and beat up looking station wagon, its driver staring down the driver of that GTV up ahead. You can’t help but chuckle. “This guy gets it”, you think to yourself. Then the light turns…
