Sign Language of Drag Racing
Read more: Sign Language of Drag RacingAs it happens, once you get baptised by nitro, you want to come back again and again. While feeling nostalgic I’ve made this small project during the events I shot at Hockenheim, because I was fascinated how every team was “signaling” to their driver. You can really feel the difference in relationship that driver has with crew members: some are family, others keep a more professional approach; few may be nervous, others too eager to win. I came up with a name for the techniques as well 😀 Puppy was just this size technique Move along, nothing to see here…

A year in Wovka’s life
Read more: A year in Wovka’s lifeYear 2016 has 8784 hours in it and that’s 24 hours more than previous 3 years, so you can’t really blame the time for not managing to do something. These 366 days ended really fast for me and they don’t seem to slow down. I’ve visited around 25 cities in 7 countries on 2 continents and photographed most powerful racing cars in different, but always demanding conditions. Truth is, for a freelance photographer from Northern Europe, racing season doesn’t last 12 months – roller coaster starts around March and finishes in October, winter months are for post-edit work, planning and…

NitrolympX // Hockenheimring / 2016
Read more: NitrolympX // Hockenheimring / 2016It’s nice to see you again Hockenheim. Small town with buildings that don’t go higher that an average tree. At first sight it seems that the tower that belongs to the fire station is the highest man-made structure in the region. If you arrived to Hockenheim on an appropriate weekend you’ll hear some loud noises from the distance. They will come from the forest that is on the edge of the town. Those be racing car or bike noises that are amplified even greater by the huge structures of the Hockenheimring complex that puts the fire tower into a different,…

101 Pictures from the DTM Festival
Read more: 101 Pictures from the DTM FestivalWhen you’re not a full-time motorsport photographer, you face a number of difficulties: you don’t know, will you actually get an accreditation or not, you need to find a publication and, usually, you spend own money on travel. Around 10 days before the event I got an email that I’m approved for DTM at Hockenheimring. In this case it’s best not to turn down the opportunity, which I didn’t – so I packed my bags and went to shoot German Touring Masters for the second time in my life. I like Hockenheimring and how it is situated. Comfortable flight to Frankfurt and…

DTM FINALE // HOCKENHEIM / 2013
Read more: DTM FINALE // HOCKENHEIM / 2013Exactly one year ago I arrived to Hockenheim for the first time. As it usually is with racetracks — Hockenheimring is situated in a small town where you hardly see buildings more than two storeys high. Track facilities are the largest constructions in the area. I lived in a nearby city Manheim and travelled by train to Hockenheim. As soon as I arrived to the train station, loud and vicious engine noises were coming from the track and were heard everywhere dispite that the track was 2.5km away. DTM practice was on. Session was already ending, but I wasn’t worried, I knew…
