This weekend I visited my first ever Hot Wheels Convention. It was held in Germany – my favourite country for motorsport photography. This time it wasn’t the case, I limited myself to a small indoor hall, instead of Hockenheimring or Nordschleife. Event is relatively small, but positively humble – guys prepare convention cars (that sadly I couldn’t get, because of limited amounts and “members-get-served-first rule”), organise customs’ contest, have fun on a HW race course, mingle and, of course, sell and trade Hot Wheels models.
Most of the time I wasn’t shooting, but running around the tables, trying to fill holes in my own Hot Wheels collection. When my cash allowance ran out and the tote bag was full, I returned to my first hobby – photography. Custom builds is a big part of the Hot Wheels community and I wanted to showcase it a bit more. Contest was held in two categories and names Mild & Wild – Hot Wheels style.
