After the Ford Deuce and the El Camino got their features, it’s time to show you what the show is actually about, and spoiler, it’s much more then legendary hot rod and a pickup. Officially show opened at 8AM (yes, everything opens early in Japan) and in twenty minutes the venue was crowded. I just managed to get my Moon Equipped merchandise before the queue was formed and now was heading to the backyard where top car & bike builders were preparing to “roll in” for the official opening ceremony. Chevy pickup went through five generations and all of them were on display at this year’s Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, although every vehicle was “slightly” customised. It was another spotlight of the show, next to the “Taste of Deuce”. There’s great hype for these vehicles and Japanese love them. Personally I’m quite sure that Chevy will resurrect the name sooner than later.

It’s also only one of four posts that will feature the one & only Mooneyes Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show. Show is held annually and this year organisers celebrated 26th running of it. Mooneyes owner Shige Suganuma is responsible for keeping it great year after year. Show always has themes or spotlights as they call them, this year one of them was celebrating 85 years of the Deuce, also known as Ford 32, the ultimate hot rod.
